When a man turns to God through faith and repentance, he becomes a soldier in the army of God and is consequently at war with the devil and his angels. Many times the devil carries out strong attacks against God’s chosen people and they have to somehow withstand the attack of the devil so that he departs from them. What is the way to achieve this according to the Epistle of James?
James teaches us that where envy and self-seeking exist:
a) Este si mult necaz
There is lots of troubles
b) Este multa neorinduiala
There is a lot of disorder
Confusion and every evil word is there
Confusion and every evil thing is there
50. Potrivit invataturilor duhovnicesti ale Sfintului Apostol Iacov, intelepciunea care aduce in
According to the teachings of James, the wisdom that brings bitter envy and self-seeking one’s heart is:
- a) Lipsita de valoare
Without any value
- b) O sursa de ratacire a celui ce o are
Deceitful for who has it
A mix of earthly, sensual and worldly wisdom
A mix of earthly, sensual and demonic wisdom
According to the teachings of James, the tongue is a member that:
- a) Intineaza cugetul si inima omului
Defiles the mind and the heart of man
Defiles the man that doesn’t know how to use it
- c) Intuneca tot trupul si aprinde roata vietii, adica scurteaza calatoria vietii celui ce
o scapa de sub control
Negatively affects the whole body and sets on fire the course of nature, which means it shortens the lifespan of the man who can’t control it
- d) Intineaza trupul si aprinde roata vietii trimitind pe om in focul ghenei
Defiles the body and sets on fire the course of nature sending the person to hell
The Christian life is based on total obedience to God and His Word so that we may have the honour of being servants of God. Many times through unawareness and disobedience, we may lose the status of servants of God and become enemies of God. The Epistle of James speaks about the way we can become enemies of God. What is it?

On the path of those going to heaven
According to the teaching of James, the person who is truly wise, show this:

Through his speech that’s always seasoned with grace
- b) Prin invataturile duhovnicesti pe care spune
Through the godly wisdom he imparts

bune, fara partinire, nefatarnica
First pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, without hypocrisy
bune, fara partinire, nefatarnica
First good, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, without hypocrisy
bune, fara partinire, nefatarnica
First good, then peaceable, gentle, willing to be led, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, without hypocrisy
bune, fara partinire, nefatarnica
First pure, then peaceable, good, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, without hypocrisy

Without partiality
d) Fara a cauta la pregatirea omului
Without prejudice
credinta, daca:
James teaches us that it doesn’t profit someone to say he has faith if:

According to the teachings of James, when wars and fights appear between brethren, it is due to:
- a) Lipsei maturitatii spirituale a celor in cauza

The desires for pleasure that war in the members of those involved in such things
James teaches us the reason believers don’t receive what they ask of God is because:
- a) Ca acestia nu traiesc potrivit invataturilor Sfintelor Scripturi
They don’t live according to the teachings of Scripture
They ask without faith and they ask amiss so that they may spend it on their pleasures
They don’t ask, or if they ask, they do not receive because they ask amiss so they may spend it on their pleasures
They don’t ask with confidence and with good motives
According to James, a man can become an enemy of God if:
He hardens his heart and resists God

According to the teaching of James, to be lifted up in the sight of the Lord, and not of people, you must:
- a) Sa te separi de lumea pacatoasa

The one who has become higher than the heavens
- c) Este datatorul si Judecatorul Legii
The one who is the Lawgiver
- d) Are cheile mortii si ale locuintei mortilor
The one who has the keys of Hades and of Death
Sfintul Apostol Iacov ne invata ca in realitate, omul are trebui sa-si spuna in inima lui:
Mankind always had the tendency to plan and to work hard to make that plan to come to pass, without thinking that he might be living the last moments of his life. James teaches us that man ought to say:
- a) Daca ne va ajuta Domnul si daca vremurile vor fi prielnice vom face cutare
sau cutare lucru
If the Lord wills and if the times are favourable we will do this or that
- b) Daca vom vedea ca lucrurile merg in favoarea noastra vom putea starui sa
facem cutare sau cutare lucru
If we see that things work in our favour we will pursue doing this or that
- c) Daca mai tine Dumnezeu lumea asta pacatoasa in care traim, vom trai si vom
face cutare sau cutare lucru
If this sinful world in which we live in still lasts, we shall live and do this or that
- d) Daca va vrea Domnul, vom trai si vom face cutare sau cutare lucru
If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that
